CAESY® Educational Videos
Dr. Shlafer and our team feel that it’s very important for our patients to understand the procedures we recommend for them. Thanks to our CAESY technology system, we have access to a range of informative videos that we use to educate our patients.
CariFree® Cavity Prevention
Using the CariFree Prevention system, we can reduce the amount of cavity-causing bacteria in your mouth. First, we’ll use the CariScreen® test to determine your risk level of developing a cavity.
Then, we’ll use a series of antibacterial rinses to clean out your mouth. This includes a Treatment Rinse to reduce the level of bacteria in your mouth and a Maintenance Rinse to prevent the harmful bacteria from recurring.
CEREC®
Typically, the process of restoring a damaged tooth requires multiple appointments over the course of a few weeks. But thanks to CEREC technology, we have the ability to mill your customized restoration in less than an hour. This means we can provide you with a permanent crown, filling, or bridge in just one appointment.
The CEREC software takes high-quality 3D scans of your teeth to create a precise digital model. This method is far more accurate than messy and inconvenient dental impressions. Best of all, CEREC eliminates the need for temporary restorations. This means you can enjoy your new smile from the moment you leave our office.
Computer-Guided Implant Surgery
Using our 3D computer imaging software, Dr. Shlafer can perform virtual dental implant surgery to simulate the results of your procedure. This allows him to predict how your jaw will handle implants while also showing him any potential issues that could threaten the success of your new tooth.
By using this information, Dr. Shlafer can develop a faster, safer, and more precise treatment plan for you.
PerioLase® MVP-7
Traditional surgery for treating gum disease can damage your healthy tissue and result in pain. As a minimally invasive and pain-free alternative, we’re proud to feature LANAP® (Laser-Assisted New Attachment Procedure) gum surgery at our practice.
Using the PerioLase MVP-7, a highly selective dental laser, Dr. Shlafer can remove harmful bacteria from your gums without damaging any healthy tissue. LANAP treatment also eliminates the need for a scalpel and stitches, making the recovery process much faster and more comfortable than traditional surgery.
DIAGNOdent
DIAGNOdent is an advanced method of detecting cavities. It uses a laser diode to inspect your teeth and gives a digital readout that identifies even the smallest bit of decay. Detecting bacteria early allows Dr. Shlafer to provide more effective treatment and preserve more of your natural tooth structure.
Digital X-rays
For your safety, we use digital x-rays at our practice that reduce radiation exposure by up to 90%. Best of all, we use a special computer sensor that allows us to display the x-ray images on a screen directly in front of you.
This way, you can see exactly what Dr. Shlafer sees and have total confidence in your treatment plan.
Intraoral Camera
An intraoral camera provides us with clear, precise images of your mouth that allow Dr. Shlafer to provide a more accurate diagnosis. It also allows us to show you any issues we’re seeing and help you understand why a certain procedure is necessary.
Microabrasion
Microabrasion is a quick and painless solution for removing stains and discoloration from your teeth. Stronger than teeth whitening or bleaching treatment, microabrasion uses hydrochloric acid and pumice to gently remove thin layers of tooth enamel and eliminate stains.
